L2 Classification:
  • A BS5839 L2 system will have automatic detectors on every escape route and in every room off the escape route. Like the L3 Category It will not have detection in rooms that are within a another room, however it will have detection in an area of specified risk, that may not normally have detection in a typical L3 system (i.e plant room, gas canister storage).
  • Manual call points would be installed on all openings to fresh air and change of levels.
